The dissertation based on Gestational Intrahepatic Cholestasis was the first step in the brilliant research career of Dr. Alejandro Pascual Iglesias. With Cum Laude he obtained his PhD in Bioscience and with the same excellence he has developed his work as a researcher at the National Center of Biotechnology and at the Institute of Health Research of the University Hospital La Paz. 

It is at the latter where he has taken on the responsibility of coordinating the Bioinformatics platform and studying the innate immune response. His deep knowledge led him during the worst part of the pandemic caused by COVID-19 to be part of the expert committee in Extremadura.
