Pathologies of the retina and vitreous, macular degeneration and myopia are some of the specialties that Javier Araiz Iribarren has mastered to perfection. In addition to his great medical work over more than 20 years in the profession, he has also worked as a teacher in the field of Ophthalmology, which has made him a reference in this field.  

Scientific Director of the Clinical-Surgical Institute of Ophthamology, Araiz Iribarren advocates the study and incorporation of new diagnostic and therapeutic techniques for the treatment of different pathologies. Thanks to his interest in this field, this ophthalmologist has participated in multicenter and international R+D+I projects related to the development of new treatments for diabetic retinopathy, retinal vascular pathologies and vitreoretinal interface surgery.
