Dr. Ángela López del Río has specialized in the application of machine learning and statistical techniques for biomedical data mining in her work at the Bioinformatics and Biomedical Signals Laboratory. 

He has developed a line of research to improve in silico drug discovery techniques through machine and deep learning methods. Specifically, she studies how different data preprocessing and validation strategies affect downstream models and performance estimates.
