Dr. María Isabel Guillén Salazar has focused her research career on the molecular mechanisms of the inflammatory process in various pathological states. Specifically, she has investigated phenomena such as acute myocardial infarction, pneumonia and liver regeneration. He has also participated in several clinical trials on the development of new therapeutic targets for osteoarthritis and arthritis.

During his extensive and successful career, he has published dozens of academic articles and has collaborated with the writing of chapters in specialized books. She has also participated in the organization of international congresses and scientific meetings.

On the other hand, she is founder of the biotechnology company Tisulab Desarrollos Biológicos SL, of therapeutic resources and tissue bank for veterinary use.
